Chennai, 21 Oct 2026: The Consulate General of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia Chennai celebrated Malaysia’s 69th National Day and 63rd Malaysia Day at Taj Coromandel, Chennai, under the theme “A Celebration of Nation, Culture & Tourism.” The event brought together over 300 participants, including diplomats, tourism stakeholders, business representatives and media.
Mr. K. Saravana Kumar, Consul General of Malaysia, highlighted Malaysia’s cultural diversity and longstanding friend ship with India. Mr. Hishamuddin Mustafa, Director, Tourism Malaysia Chennai (South India & Sri Lanka), emphasised tourism opportunities under the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign, highlighting the country’s heritage, cuisine, islands and adventure experiences.
The event also featured the launch of the India Malaysia Confederation of Commerce (IMCC) to strengthen bilateral business ties. Mr. Wan Ahmad Tarmizi, Trade Consul, highlighted the im port anceof continued business cooperation between the two countries. The evening also marked a farewell to Mr. K. Saravana Kumar in recognition of his contributions to bilateral relations.
