Ranipeti, 31 Oct 2026: HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company has been authorised by the Government of Tamil Nadu to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMF BY) for loanee and non-loanee farmers in Ranipet and Cuddalore districts for the Special Season 2026–27. The scheme covers paddy, cotton and maize crops, with sum insured amounts and farmer premiums varying by crop.
The scheme provides insurance protection against crop losses caused by natural calamities, including droughts, floods, cyclones, hailstorms, pest attacks and diseases. It covers different stages of cultivation, from pre-sowing to harvesting and post-harvest risks. The crop-specific enrolment deadlines are October 31 and November 16, 2026.
