Chennai: A 19-year-old man was arrested by the Chennai Traffic Police in connection with an alleged incident of dangerous motorcycle riding and wheeling near Sky One flyover in Aminjikarai, with two two-wheelers being seized from him.
According to the Chennai Traffic Police, the incident took place on the night of September 23, 2026, near Sky One flyover on Poonamallee High Road in Aminjikarai. A group of two-wheeler riders had allegedly performed dangerous wheeling stunts on the road and recorded the activity for posting on Instagram.
The incident came to the attention of the K-4 Anna Nagar Traffic Investigation Wing, following which a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, police arrested Sam Daniel, 19, son of Arokyasamy, on September 25 in connection with the alleged dangerous riding and wheeling.
Police said two two-wheelers were seized from the accused as part of the investigation.
Sam Daniel is scheduled to be produced before a court on September 26 following completion of the police investigation and other formalities.
The Chennai Traffic Police said intensive monitoring is being carried out across the city to improve the safety of motorists, pedestrians and other road users. Officials said action is being taken against those found violating traffic and road-safety regulations.
The Traffic Police also warned that strict legal action would be taken against persons who perform wheeling or other dangerous stunts on public roads, particularly when such activities pose a threat to members of the public or risk damage to public property.
Police have urged motorists to avoid high-speed and reckless riding and to follow traffic and road-safety regulations while using public roads.
