The Department of Physical Education and Sports, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, successfully organised the Founder’s Birthday Trophy 2026 – State-Level Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls on 29th August 2026 at Block C, SRMIST Vadapalani Campus.
The tournament provided a competitive platform for young and talented table tennis players from schools across the State to showcase their skills, talent, and sporting abilities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with the players displaying excellent competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the tournament.
Cash prizes were awarded to the winners in recognition of their outstanding performances. The Founder’s Birthday Trophy 2026 concluded successfully, contributing to the promotion and development of table tennis at the school level and encouraging greater participation among young sportspersons.

A Total of 80 Players Participated in the Tournament
Mr. Nitin Thiruvengadam, International Table Tennis Player and High Performance Mentor, was the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, he shared his experience and encouraged the young players to develop consistency, discipline and a competitive mindset in their sporting journey.
The winners were honoured with trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes. The first-place winners received ₹5,000, while the second- and 2 third-place winners received ₹4,000. and ₹2,500 respectively.
