SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has been honoured with the prestigious “Institutional Excellence Award in Sports and Games” by the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), Tamil Nadu State Chapter, in recognition of its outstanding contribution, exemplary sports infrastructure and dedicated service to the advancement of Physical Education and Sports.
The award was presented during the Awards for Excellence in Sports 2026 held at Tiruchirappalli on 12 September 2026. Thiru. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu & Kerala, presented the prestigious award to Dr. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director – Sports, SRMIST, who received it on behalf of SRMIST.
