Passion Studios and Aspire Ubuntu Films’ ALMOST Nallavan, directed by actor and Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5 winner Raju Jeyamohan, has entered its second schedule in Tenkasi. After completing its first schedule entirely in Chennai, the team has now moved to the picturesque landscapes of Tenkasi, shooting across locations including Mottai and Idintha Karai. The film features Raju Jeyamohan in the lead, alongside Dushara Vijayan and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
ALMOST Nallavan, a dark humour by its genre, is being filmed with naturalistic backdrops of real locations rather than confining to set works. Rather than depending extensively on constructed sets, the team is taking the story to its actual surroundings, with rain, forests and the landscape becoming an integral part of the film’s visual world. Adding another layer of authenticity, the production is also involving local people from the respective regions wherever the film travels for its shoot.
Director-Actor Raju Jeyamohan says, “We wanted to make ALMOST Nallavan with nature as an important part of the film. Instead of creating everything through sets, we are shooting extensively in real locations, allowing the rain, forests and the surrounding environment to become part of the story. Wherever we travel for the shoot, we are also involving people from those respective places in the film. The second schedule is currently happening in Tenkasi, and this approach gives the film a very natural feel. At its core, this is a dark humour film that we believe will connect with audiences across age groups. It’s a great experience to get a colossal support from our producers Sudhan Sundaram sir and H Vinoth sir, which is enabling us to proceed with schedules as planned.”
The film also brings together actors who have significant scope to explore distinctive characters. Dushara Vijayan takes on a challenging role that offers her considerable room to showcase her acting abilities, while Sathyaraj plays a crucial character in the story. According to Raju Jeyamohan, the veteran actor has embraced a never-before makeover for the film, taking up the role as yet another challenge after having portrayed more than 250 different looks during his illustrious career.
Raju Jeyamohan, who has previously worked as an assistant to Bhagyaraj and Nelson Dilipkumar, is making his directorial debut with ALMOST Nallavan, while simultaneously playing the lead character. Produced by Sudhan Sundaram under Passion Studios and H. Vinoth under Aspire Ubuntu Films, the film features cinematography by T.S. Prasanna, editing by Govind, art direction by Bala Jayapradha, music by Foxn, action choreography by Vicky. costume design by Ramya Shekar and VFX by Knack Studios.
